What is Diclazepam Powder?
Diclazepam Powder, (chlorodiazepam) is the short name for 7-chloro-5-(2-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-1,3-dihydro-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one and can be considered both to be the 2′-chloro analogue of diazepam or the 1-methyl analogue of Delorazepam. This chemical is a novel research chemical and is not currently subject to any licensing controls or regulations in the UK when used for laboratory research and development purposes.
It is an analogue of the sedative diazepam (Valium), it is a benzodiazepine drug with, among others, hypnotic, sedative, and analytical properties. Part of the tranquillizer class.
which can be detected in urine for 6 days following administration of the parent compound. Other metabolites detected were lorazepam and lormetazepam which were detectable in urine for 19 and 11 days, respectively, indicating hydroxylation by cytochrome P450 enzymes occurring concurrently with N-demonetization. .
Diclazepam is also available in pellet form, and can be used as a substitute for etizolam in comparable study conditions.
As with all the chemicals that we stock, Diclazepam is not approved for any type of in-vivo research (i.e. not in humans or animals) or for clinical trials and therefore if accidentally ingested then immediate medical attention should be sought. Please ensure you adhere to standard laboratory safety practices including using suitable skin, eye and clothing protection.
Diclazepam Powder Important Information
Diclazepam is one of the newest designer benzodiazepines with the first incident reports appearing in 2014. By the end of that year, there were only two reports involving this drug. However, as other designer benzodiazepines become harder to find, either due to demand or changes in legal status, diclazepam may become more popular.
A 2014 study investigating diclazepam’s properties found that once a 1 mg tablet of the drug is ingested, it moves slowly through the body; the elimination half-life is 42 hours, meaning it can be active for several days. As it breaks down, it becomes other benzodiazepine drugs, which perhaps makes it continuously potent. Delorazepam, lorazepam, and lormetazepam can all be detected in urine samples for up to 11 days after just 1 milligram of diclazepam has been ingested.
Risks from Abusing Diclazepam
Anxiety, stress, panic disorders, insomnia, seizures, and alcohol or opioid withdrawal can be successfully managed with benzodiazepine tranquilizers. Valium, Klonopin, Ativan, and Librium are some of the brand name benzodiazepine medications commonly prescribed for short-term relief.
Benzodiazepines are central nervous system depressants that activate the inhibitory neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid, or GABA, which has natural hypnotic, calming, and relaxing effects. In short, benzodiazepines, or benzos, can make you feel good and therefore are commonly abused. The National Survey on Drug Use and Health(NSDUH) reported that 1.7 million Americans over the age of 12 abused tranquilizers in the month prior to the 2013 survey.
Any time a medication is used beyond its medical scope or intended purpose, it is considered abuse. Abusing benzodiazepine medications can create a plethora of short-term and long-term side effects. Even when used as directed, benzodiazepines are not without risk factors.
